Connect Google Calendar to MissedCalls

By Guy · Updated · 4 min read

Short answer: in the Lead Inbox, go to Settings → Hours, tap Connect Google Calendar and sign in with Google. Your bookings then appear in your Google Calendar automatically, and times you're busy there aren't offered to customers. It takes about a minute, and there are no links to copy.

Google Calendar is available on the Standard and Premium plans.

What it does

  • Adds your bookings to Google Calendar. New bookings appear in the calendar you choose, with the customer's name, phone, address, services and a link back to the booking.
  • Keeps them up to date. When you confirm, move or cancel a booking in the Lead Inbox, the event in Google updates or disappears.
  • Blocks busy times. Times you're busy in the calendars you choose aren't offered on your booking form. New events are picked up within about a minute.

How to connect

  1. Open the Lead Inbox and go to Settings → Hours.
  2. Tap Connect Google Calendar and choose your Google account.
  3. If Google shows "Google hasn't verified this app", tap Advanced, then Go to MissedCalls. You may see this while the feature is in beta.
  4. Tick both calendar boxes (or Select all) on the permissions screen, then tap Continue. MissedCalls needs both: one to add your bookings, one to show your list of calendars.
  5. You're taken back to the Lead Inbox, and the card shows Connected.

Upcoming bookings you already have are added to your calendar within a few minutes.

Choose your calendars

Once connected, the Google Calendar card lets you choose:

  • Add bookings to: the calendar your bookings go into. Your main calendar is selected to start with.
  • Also add requests: if bookings need your approval, they can also appear in Google, marked "Request:", until you confirm or decline them.
  • Don't offer times when I'm busy in: the calendars to check for busy times. You can tick more than one, such as a shared family or staff calendar.

Tap Save Google settings after making changes.

Public holiday calendars: Google's "Holidays in Australia" calendar includes every state's public holidays, so ticking it can block days that aren't holidays where you are. Add your own public holidays under Days off instead.

How sync works (important)

Sync is one way: from MissedCalls to Google.

  • Moving an event in Google doesn't move the booking, and your customer isn't told. They'll still turn up at the original time.
  • Deleting an event in Google doesn't cancel the booking.
  • Changes made in the Lead Inbox always win. The next time the booking changes there, the Google event is updated to match.

Always confirm, move or cancel bookings in the Lead Inbox. That's what updates the booking, emails your customer and keeps your calendar right. Each event in Google carries the same reminder at the top.

What counts as busy

  • Timed events block their exact time.
  • All-day events block the whole day.
  • These don't block anything: events marked Free, invitations you've declined, working-location entries, birthdays, and the booking events MissedCalls adds (those are already counted as bookings).

Your booking form also double-checks the time just before a booking is saved, so two bookings can't take the same spot.

Using Outlook, Apple or another calendar

The Google Calendar connection works with Google accounts only. For Outlook, Apple (iCloud) or a second Google account, use Other calendars on the same page: paste the calendar's private link and its busy times won't be offered. Those links can take longer to update than a direct Google connection.

Disconnecting

In Settings → Hours, tap Disconnect Google Calendar. MissedCalls then:

  • removes the upcoming booking events it added (past ones stay as a record),
  • stops reading your calendar and removes its access with Google,
  • deletes your stored connection and calendar choices.

Your bookings in MissedCalls aren't affected. You can also remove access from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Privacy

MissedCalls only reads the times of your events and whether they're marked busy or free. It doesn't read or keep the titles, descriptions, locations or guests of your own events, and it never sells your data or uses it for advertising or AI training. See the Google Calendar section of our privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Google say the app isn't verified?

While Google Calendar is in beta, Google is still reviewing MissedCalls. It's safe to continue: tap Advanced, then Go to MissedCalls. The warning goes away once the review is finished.

Will my customers get Google invitations?

No. Events are private to your calendar and no invitations are sent. Your customers get their usual booking emails from MissedCalls.

I connected, but a booking isn't in Google yet

New bookings normally appear straight away, and anything missed is retried every few minutes. If the card says Reconnect, Google access has stopped (for example, a password change or access was removed), so tap Reconnect.

Can I use more than one Google account?

You can connect one Google account. To block busy times from a second account, add its private calendar link under Other calendars.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Connect once from the Lead Inbox on any device, and the events show in the Google Calendar app on your phone.
