How to Add a Book Now Button to Your Facebook Page

By Guy · Updated · 4 min read

Short answer: switch into your business Page, click the action button under your cover photo (or Add a button if there isn't one), choose Book now, pick Link to website, paste your booking page URL and save. If Facebook doesn't offer Link to website for Book now, choose another button that links to a website, such as Contact us or Learn more, and use the same link. It's free and takes about two minutes.

The rest of this guide covers each step, what to do when the options look different, and how to get more bookings from your Page.

Why add a booking button to Facebook

People check a business's Facebook Page to see if it's real, what its work looks like and how to get in touch. If the only option is a message, you have to reply before anything happens, and replies sent hours later lose jobs.

A booking button lets them book a time or request a quote straight away, even while you're working.

Before you start

You need:

  1. A Facebook business Page, not a personal profile. Pages show a follow button rather than add friend.
  2. Admin access to the Page. You need full control to change its buttons.
  3. A booking page link that works well on a phone and lets customers book or request a quote straight away.

Step-by-step: add your booking button

  1. Switch into your Page. On a computer, click your profile picture at the top right and choose your Page. On the app, tap the menu, then your profile name, and switch to the Page.
  2. Find the action button. It sits under your cover photo, often showing Message or Contact us. Click it and choose Edit button or Change button. If there isn't one, click Add a button.
  3. Choose Book now. It's usually under Book with you or Book services.
  4. Choose Link to website and paste your booking page URL.
  5. Save.
  6. Test it. Open your Page on your phone, tap the button and go through it as a customer would.

Tip: Facebook often shows Message as the main button. If your booking button sits behind it, change the main button to your booking link so it's the first thing people see.

If Book now doesn't link to your website

Facebook changes these options from time to time, and some Pages only see Book now connected to Facebook's own appointments tool or partner apps, with no Link to website choice. If that happens:

  • Pick another button that links to a website, such as Contact us, Learn more or Sign up, and paste your booking link. Customers still reach your form in one tap.
  • Don't connect a tool you don't use. Facebook's own appointments system creates a second booking calendar you'd have to keep in sync.

Put your link in more places on Facebook

The button is the main spot, but not the only one:

  • Intro and contact details: add your booking link as your website, or as a second link.
  • A pinned post: post a short message with your booking link, for example "Book online or request a quote here", and pin it to the top of your Page.
  • Message replies: set up a saved reply with your booking link, so you can send it in one tap when people message you.

Track how many bookings it brings in

Add a tag to the end of your link, for example ?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=page_button, so you can see Facebook bookings separately in your analytics or booking system. Use a different tag for your pinned post if you want to compare the two.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free to add a Book Now button to Facebook?

Yes. Adding an action button to your Facebook Page is free. Your booking system may charge its own fees, but Facebook doesn't charge for the button.

Why can't I see the Link to website option?

Facebook doesn't always offer it for Book now, depending on your Page and region. Choose another button that links to a website, such as Contact us or Learn more, and use your booking link there instead.

Can I add a booking button on the Facebook app?

Yes. Switch into your Page in the app, tap the action button under your cover photo and edit it. The steps are the same, though the menus look slightly different.

Can I use a quote form instead of a booking calendar?

Yes. If your work is quoted rather than booked by the hour, link to a quote or enquiry form that collects the job details, photos and suburb.

Should I use the same link on Facebook and Google?

Yes. One form for every channel keeps every enquiry in one place. Here's how to add a booking button to your Google Business Profile.
